Changing your password

Virtually every security expert recommends that you change your password regularly, some as often as once a week. While I’m ashamed to admit that I only have 4 or 5 passwords - 2 for spammy sites, 1 for sites that require more than 6 letter passwords, and 1 for sites that require upper/lowercase etc, this really is a good idea. Its often difficult to tell whether or not your accounts security has been breached, and changing your password is a good way to interrupt their nefarious plans.
For all of you that have/had MySpace’s, I’m sure you’re aware of the spammers that always seemed to have infected one of your friends account, littering your comments with things like “get legal budz” and “omg look at this girl, I can’t believe we went to school with her lol”, while mining your account for data and advertising purposes.
Obviously, you should change your password at least occasionally, but sometimes it can be tricky to figure out how, as the option is buried in an obscure sub menu. Fortunately there’s a resource you can use to faciliate your password change - the site offers step by step instructions for many popular programs, operating systems and websites - from Myspace to Unix.
