(BUILD-A-DAY DISCLAIMER: None of the Build-A-Day computers come with an operating system, as many people have copies of Windows around their home, or prefer to use a Free operating system such as Ubuntu or Debian. This is intentional. In addition, no computer builds will contain monitors, keyboard, or other peripherals unless otherwise specified.)
This $350 build uses the same motherboard and processor as the $250 build, but thats about all that stays the same. The hard drive doubles in size to 160GB. The ram does the same to two GB. The Video card gets a major upgrade, from an 8400GS to an 8600GT, a very solid card. The case gets upgraded to a more reliable brand. All in all, we’re starting to move into starter gaming computer range, which is quite impressive for the price.

Add a decent PSU for ~$50 (ex. Antec) and then you can call it a pc. The power supply makes or brakes it, because who wants a fried/underpowered pc?
Antec isn’t a decent PSU. But your point is correct, the powersupply is the one thing you can’t go cheap on.
